
Medina is located in West Saudi Arabia. It is between two mountains, one on the north and one on the south. It lies 590-620 metres above sea level.and it is far from water bodies (from the Red Sea 240 km). All this adds to the distinctive features of Medina. There are 2 seasons in Medina, namely the summer and winter. The rate of the Great Ratings for the month of July on record about (42 degrees), to be offset by the rate of the smaller grades in the fall to January (11.5 degrees) and low relative humidity throughout the year, winds are often calm. An increasing number of people in Medina at a fast rate, as the population increased from (198) thousand in 1974 to (311) thousand in 1978 and the figure jumped to hit in 1987 towards the (500) thousand people and by 1995 the population of the city about Medina (658) thousand people.
